Sometimes, humans suck. The world tries to put us down, tell us we are not good enough. Too fat, too skinny, too bold, too quiet. Too loud or too soft spoken. Too much or too little. Someone, somewhere is always going to have a problem with the way we dress, or the way our hair or makeup looks. They way we eat, walk, or talk. Someone, somewhere is not going to like you. And if there is no like, there is certainly no love. In this day and age, more than ever, the world tries to identify ourselves for us. As if our identity, our approval, our worth , is determined as something as silly as
or Social Media Likes
or The girls who don’t like me
or the Boy who doesn’t text you back.
If we are looking to find our identity in any of these things, it’s a constant battle between our mind and our physical beings. Trying to be better than the best, and finding worth in things that aren’t anywhere as good as the love from our Savior.
I have a secret. God loves you as you are. He has loved you at your worst, and will love you at your best. Psalm 139:13-15 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.”
“Wonderful are your works”
Ephesians 2:10 “ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
You are a work of HIM
You are HIS Handiwork
You are Wonderful
The world is going to bring you down, but in Christ, you are safe and held and LOVED
This is not a small love either, this is a love that lives in ALL CAPS. It is a Love greater than anything. It’s a love that makes you worthy, and held, and wonderful. This is a love that always protects, always perseveres, always trusts.
This is a Love that never fails.
In finding our identity in this great, vast, wonderful love, we become a new creation, we become
Because God’s works are wonderful. We are a wonderful work of the Great I Am. That is amazing to think about, and wow am I lucky to be a wonderful work of Him.
The world is meant to bring us down. Social Media, School, the people around us are things that do not define you.
Christ’s love for you defines you.
Because YOU my sweet friend, are a wonderful work
